Mortgage Loan Originator
Member Advantage Mortgage seeks a Mortgage Loan Originator to handle all mortgages for Homebase Credit Union.
The Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans by helping clients navigate the home financing process. This role involves assessing borrower needs, recommending suitable loan products, and guiding applicants from initial inquiry through closing. Success in this role requires strong sales ability, financial knowledge, and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with prospective and existing clients to assess financial situations and home financing needs
- Recommend appropriate mortgage products (e.g., conventional, FHA, VA, jumbo loans)
- Collect and analyze financial documentation, including income, credit history, assets, and liabilities
- Pre-qualify and pre-approve borrowers based on lending guidelines
- Complete and submit accurate loan applications and required disclosures
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout the loan process
- Coordinate with processors, underwriters, appraisers, and title companies to ensure timely closings
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company lending regulations
- Develop and maintain referral networks with real estate agents, builders, and other partners
- Monitor market trends, interest rates, and competitor offerings
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field preferred
- Active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license (NMLS) required
- Proven experience in mortgage lending, banking, or financial services
- Strong understanding of mortgage products and underwriting guidelines
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication, sales, and negotiation skills
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Proficiency in loan origination systems (LOS) and Microsoft Office Excellent customer service skills
Preferred Skills
- Established network of referral partners
- Experience meeting or exceeding sales targets

Junior Mortgage Loan Originator
Member Advantage Mortgage seeks a Junior Mortgage Loan Originator to assist with mortgages for Homebase Credit Union.
The Junior Mortgage Loan Originator supports senior loan officers in originating, processing, and closing residential mortgage loans. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in the mortgage and financial services industry. The position involves client interaction, financial data review, and administrative support to ensure a smooth loan application process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering and reviewing client financial information, including credit reports, income documentation, and asset statements
- Support loan officers in evaluating borrower eligibility and loan options
- Communicate with clients to collect required documents and provide updates on loan status
- Maintain accurate and organized loan files in compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Coordinate with underwriters, processors, and third-party vendors (e.g., appraisers, title companies)
- Help prepare loan applications and disclosures
- Ensure timely follow-up with clients and internal teams to meet deadlines
- Stay informed about mortgage products, interest rates, and industry guidelines
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or related field (preferred but not always required)
- Strong interest in mortgage lending and financial services
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and organizational ability
- Basic understanding of financial documents and credit analysis (training provided)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
